- Susan G. "Marcy" Vilella, 87, of Charleroi, was called to be her Lord's partner at his bridge table Wednesday, October 1, 2014.
She was born July 24, 1927, in Smock, and grew up in the Dunbar Township area.
Mrs. Vilella graduated from Dunbar Township High School, where she met the true love of her life, Vic. They married June 25, 1949, remaining constant, loving companions for 63 years, until his passing in 2012.
She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi.
Mrs. Vilella was an avid bridge player, and loved watching Pittsburgh sports, especially overtime Penguins shoot-out wins. She was an outstanding baker, specializing in cookie trays that always featured pizzelles.
Surviving are her loving daughter, Carleen of Washington; sisters Ruth (Richard) Hodges of Friendswood, Texas, Florence (Robert) Gould of Wickliffe, Ohio, Genevieve Litavic of North Huntingdon and Mabel Ann Cashill of Winnetka, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home, 819 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director, where funeral guests are asked to meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4, for final prayers and procession to the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi.
