    Patrick McDermott was born in Ireland. He enlisted in the 69th Pa Infantry Co I at Philadelphia 13th Aug 1861 and mustered in also at Philadelphia 29th Aug 1861.

    Got lost between the battle of Savage Station and Harrison's Landing between June 30th - July 2nd 1862. Was ill after Gettysburg and spent time in hospital at Philadelphia between Aug 1863 and Sept 1864.

    Mustered out at end of term 26th Sept 1864.

    Nothing as now known about what happened to him after the war but it would appear he died in an old soldiers home near Hampton.
